Living On The Economy vs Government Housing

My purpose is to give a view of economy living versus government quarters. When Shirley and I got there, we had one daughter, Cynthia and we resided on the so called "economy" on Debsteder Str, Langen, just north of Bremerhaven. This photo shows the method of heat in the apartment and slave labor. Note the one spigot for water, not hot either.

These two photos were taken of our apartment on Kliner Blink (US Housing). It is the second floor to the right of the staircase. SMSgt Perdew (304XX) Radio Maintainance, resided above me and SSgt Kleinman (340XX) resided below. Across the hall was CMSgt Tony Rieskis (203XX) Russian Linguist. The last picture is of the living room in the new quarters. I can't tell you how much my wife and I enjoyed the change from the economy to government housing. We were even issued Rosenthal China and crystal goblets.
