Hoover Dam, was completed in 1935 on the Colorado River, 30 miles SE of Las Vegas. It is 726.4 feet high and the towers and ornaments rise 40 feet above the crest. The maximum water pressure at the base of the dam is 45,000 pounds per square foot. A total of 21,000 men worked on the Dam with an average of 3,500 and a maximum of 5,218 daily.
